Sound Team

Our Sound Team is in need of a number of adult volunteers who are reliable, dedicated, and willing to be trained to join the team in its continuing walk toward excellence in glorifying God through praise and worship.

Responsibilities: Sound Team members are responsible for setting up, and operating the sound system for services, rehearsals, and special events.  You will be trained in how to set up and take down the music equipment on the stage, running and programming the Lightronics board (stage lighting), and in how the sound system works and how to troubleshoot problems.  Sound technicians will eventually need to be able to produce a balanced musical mix during services that enhances the ability of the musicians to lead the congregation in worship.

Qualifications: Possessing a servant’s heart and submitting to leadership.  Prior experience is helpful, but not necessary.  Training sessions will be provided, and there will be a period of mentoring and “shadowing” before going solo at the mixing console.   Skills/Interests Needed: Sound mixing, listening to music, technical ability and/or a good ear, reliability, detail oriented, taking initiative, ability to focus, methodical problem solver and a team player.

Commitment needed: Serving one to two services per month plus rehearsals on the Thursday night prior (usually 6:30pm-8:30pm) to the scheduled service and special events.  Participation in routine sound checks on Sundays (usually 7:30am to start of the service and staying about 20 minutes following the service to straighten stage, secure microphones, and shut down the sound board).  Attend scheduled staff meetings/trainings.
